Many years ago, there used to be two legendary spirits who would fight each other for how they wanted to run the universe. The backstory behind this adventure mode is actually quite interesting. So then I eventually had the brilliant idea for an expanded and improved version of World of Light, and I called it “Super Smash Bros Ultimate: World of Light Extended Cut.” And, you’ve guessed it, it is now a bigger, more immersive and story-filled Adventure Mode that has elements of both The Subspace Emissary from Brawl, and Kid Icarus Uprising. However this got me thinking? What if World of Light was more like the Subspace Emissary? What if Kirby wasn’t the only survivor? What if there was more of a story? What if there were more bosses? etc. And while I believe some characters could’ve been unlockable on certain parts of the map (such as Palutena being in The Temple of Light, and Pac Man being in Pac Maze) I still thought it was a cool adventure mode. The many maps were pretty well thought out and it was cool to see what Sakurai could still do, despite having health issues during Ultimate’sdevelopment. While not having much of a story or being as perfect or grand as Brawl’s Subspace Emissary, World of Light was still a unique, acceptable, and visually interesting adventure mode. For those who don’t know, Super Smash Bros Ultimate (currently my most favorite game on the Nintendo Switch) has had a well-known adventure mode known as World of Light. However, it didn't have much of a story because Sakurai unfortunately wasn't able to expand its story due to both health issues he was having AND especially due to the fact that he didn’t like the Subspace Emissary cutscenes being uploaded on the internet.
